The medical laboratories of Al Qassimi Women’s & Children’s Hospital have obtained the international accreditation (ISO 15189) in cooperation with the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC), making MoHAP’s laboratories network the largest in the Middle East that obtains this accreditation. The requirements for this specialized accreditation include all stages of work, as well as a system for quality management in laboratories based on the principles of patient safety and care, in order to provide them with the best experience and to enable doctors and the health team to obtain accurate and accredited results, which help conduct internationally accredited diagnostic and treatment protocols.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) was honoured by the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC), in recognition of getting 11 ISO accreditations for its labs within one year only. ISO certifications are the highest international accreditation granted to medical laboratories and are followed by the oldest American and European healthcare institutions as a global methodology for building high-quality medical laboratory systems.

MOHAP has won the Gold Award at the World Hospital Congress of the International Hospital Federation (IHF) which was held in Oman. MoHAP came out victorious as the Gold Award winner of the IHF/EOH Excellence Award for Leadership and Management in Healthcare for its AI-based innovative project ‘PaCE’ (Performance and Clinical Excellence). ‘PaCE’ was chosen as the best project out of 121 projects from 92 organizations in 34 countries.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention recently revealed that its hospitals network in Ras Al Khaimah (Abdullah Bin Omran Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology & Shaam Hospital) has received the Joint Commission International accreditation (JCI). Ministry of Health and Prevention has won the best federal initiative award for promoting early childhood reading program during a ceremony in Abu Dhabi led by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The Ministry was one of the 45 individuals and organizations recognized over their support for the government’s Year of Reading initiative. The ceremony was held as part of the nationwide 45th National Day celebrations.
