79 infected with HINI virus recovered and left hospital, says UAE ministry

Tuesday, 21, July 2009 Category: News

The Ministry of Health has announced that 79 people, who were initially infected with the H1N1 virus, have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the disease.

In its weekly update about the disease, the ministry said 31 other patients were still receiving treatment in various hospitals, but their conditions were stable.

Meanwhile, the UAE will take part in the emergency meeting of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, to be held in Cairo on Wednesday, to discuss developments of the H1N1 pandemic and the precautions that need to be taken during the Hajj and Ummrah seasons.

The meeting is being held on an invitation from the Yemeni Health Minister and the current chairperson of the WHO Regional Committee, Abdul Karim Rasi.

The UAE is also seeking to upgrade its national anti-H1N1 plan in order to cope with the latest developments concerning the spread of the dreaded flu virus in different parts of the world.
