News Details
The cabinet approved in its last session the new suggested system which was submitted by the Ministry of Health to provide UAE national intern doctors a financial reward.
During the session, the cabinet addressed the ministry of higher education and scientific research to set up a mechanism that would ensure the private hospital's participation in providing training opportunities for UAE doctors during their intern year which is specified by the medical colleges in the UAE.
The Ministry of Health announced the beginning of the application of the new system for all intern doctors in the ministry's hospitals with a monthly financial reward according to a training contract beginning from 1st May 2012. The decision will be also applied retroactively from January 2012 for previous UAE national doctors.
His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Acting Minister of Health, stated that the system coincides with the enforced regulations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and ensures the ministry's concerns to provide intern doctors an appropriate and convenient working environment during their internship year.
His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais emphasized that the federal government is very keen to provide suitable employment opportunities to all UAE national doctors after finishing their internship period noting that the community members are encouraged to achieve excellence and raise the levels of performance in order to be active and leading members of the society.
According to the new system, the Ministry of Health may appoint an intern UAE national doctor in any junior vacant position if he passes the internship year successfully.
