Electronic Immunization Services
The Ministry of Health aims to improve and update the health system in the United Arab Emirates in line with the global trends in health system development. As part of its comprehensive strategy, the Ministry of Health is launching the electronic system for the National Immunization Program in January 2011. This electronic service will support the health system in improving the recording, reporting and documentation of immunization; scheduling immunization visits for clients; follow up of defaulters and track adverse events following immunization.

It will automate (at all administrative levels) the system for immunization reports and statistics including vaccine preventable diseases and create unique immunization records for each client which is accessible to the client via the internet directly. Therefore, this electronic immunization service will improve the quality of health services to the community including citizens, residents and visitors to the country.  More...​

Benefits of immunization module for clients
Clients will be able to use the immunization module to track and follow up on their and/or their children’s immunization schedule. Ministry of Health will provide the following services for public clients through the immunization module.

1.       View their immunization history
2.       View their scheduled immunization with their status
3.       Receive e-Mail and SMS notifications for their profile registration and updates
4.       Receive e-Mail and SMS reminders for their schedule and modifications.
5.       View and update their personal profile information
6.       View any history of adverse events following immunization

Benefits of Immunization Module to Medical Providers

Medical Providers will be able to use the immunization module to track and follow up on their client’s immunization status and manage their vaccines inventory for better planning to ensure vaccine availability as per schedule.  Ministry of Health will provide the following services for medical providers through the Immunization Module:

1.       Register and update client’s information in the system and create their Login information to access the online system.
2.       Schedule immunizations for clients
3.       Record immunization taken inside UAE for Clients
4.       View, manage and track their vaccines inventory
5.       View and update their own personal profile information
6.       Record and track the adverse reactions for clients towards a specific vaccine, if any.

Benefits of Immunization Module to Ministry of Health
Ministry of Health will be able generate electronic reports for immunization e.g. reports about immunization status, completeness of immunization and other health information. Immunization Module e-Service will provide the Ministry of Health with the following benefits:

1.       Track and register immunization providers across UAE Districts.
2.       Track and manage the vaccines inventory and the distribution of vaccines to providers.
3.       Generate regular statistical reports about health indicators for immunization, vaccines, clients, vaccine inventory at all administrative levels.​
