Ministry of Health and Prevention ramps up efforts to promote nursing profession
General / Published in 12 Monday, March, 2018
In response to the directives of the wise leadership to promote nursing to build an integrated and enhanced health system, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has allocated a budget to increase settlement until 2020 in the hope of rising the number of nursing professionals in the country and in a bid to support the 246 scholars in four state educational institutions.
This development came following the UAE’s successful bid to host the Congress of the Council of Nursing 2021, beating other countries worldwide. The remarkable achievement has solidified the reputation of the UAE Nursing Society and the entire UAE in the field of healthcare. The country is the first in the region to host the prominent event which will be organized to discuss the latest developments in the field. More than 8,000 nurses from across the globe are expected to participate.
The state is steadily developing the nursing field to attract interest to the profession, which looks towards a positive and prosperous future. Through the allocation of a set budget and under its supervision and management, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) aims to provide scholarships; develop community awareness programs; and support the nursing programs across four educational institutions--in support of the evolving education and health sectors. Enhancing the nursing profession will encourage the citizens to take up the course and improve competencies to guarantee continuity in the field.
